MSGI looks like a POSSIBLE good play -- check this link and the next dozen or so on that thread for MSGI references...

Also some talk there about SPDE, as a poor-cousin to AMPD (working on same kind of high-speed access). I haven't checked it out thoroughly, just passing it along FWIW...
