Past management has been up to the task of surviving between two and three times as long as most of their peers. That counts. That is also why so many investors have kept their investments where they are. The stronger a company's stockholders are, the stronger the company, the weaker the company's stockholders, the weaker the company. The past management has also seen the future they were looking for and staffed up for a company partial paradigm shift with atomic cannon caliber gunners. It was what it needed to be in the past and it is geared up to gear up for what is in their future. Seems like a lot of the new management are betting their own retirements on IRSN as well. Present management seems to think they need a lot of presidents and vice-presidents for a company of less than 100. Target must be big. They can't hide all they know since they can't hide all their derivative actions, else it's a very expensive cover story. Many an engineer-started company has robbed the starting engineer to death. It's one of those business ethics where busyness thinks it is a sufficient goal in and of itself. Ownership suffers from unexpected punctuated equilibrium, founding engineers fill the cemeteries of work heart ache with wasted years and tears from years of tears. People who are trained to get all the business they can sometimes do. The new management doesn't seem to have a plunder to the gutter history, and are near enough to their retirements to want to protect their retirements. Final nest egg building and preservation is more the expectation. The necessary turning point has begun with a turn into the wind for takeoff because the future has finally arrived. Every company has a “get ready, get set, get set, get set, get set, go” cycle. IRSN has a twenty year “head”-start on a lot of their products. “Get on with it” is a better place to be than “get over it” is. It is better to luck out than to luck OUT. The only way to be fast enough is to anticipate. Is twenty years enough? The key attitude turning point has been discovered in plain sight, in place, now history, activated, clear to all, crossroads have been left behind. A hobby shop attitude is a misnomer for customized equipment as touted by those who toot themselves. They were forced to tinker into existence fabrication and test for exotics years ahead of star wars. While still working on “stuff” for twenty years out, they have finally reached the first twenty years out they started for twenty years ago.

Diluters: Who gets the better deal, labor funded with dilution, or funds diluted for labor? Dilution is really the drop in value from additional shares issued. If the value really rises from an additional stocks issue, then is it really diluted? The rise or preservation of “key-time” value is the value sought.

People have to fitted for a purpose to be fit for a purpose. Inventors invent, engineers merge inventions. They BOUGHT a patent. They used to only make all their own patents since they had to invent all their technical accessories too. They are now in engineering mode filling in missing pieces with the engineering attitude shown from the top (both of them) all the way through. Now that the main inventor has purchased and hog-tied an external patent, we can expect him to more than ever merge like an engineer. As in a concert, concert masters shift dominant instruments “in concert” and in sequence to orchestrate masterpieces of technical and functional beauty. Invention is taking second fiddle for a while, but the conductor's magic wand will point that way again in a way those ears most trained will appreciate most their training.

I need to demonstrate some responsible urge management myself and wait until the shorts want to get cleaned out more again. I really don't need an arbitrary even-decimal percentage of the stock totals, which might put me at the mercy of the only sellers who are the shorts in the meantime. Maybe the next time the shorts binge and purge, or is it binge for a purge, I'll be readier. Work just offered me a 25% raise if I'd just work a minimum of 20 hours a week. Might be a great convergence of opportunities. Could be a great omen that buying much more IRSN is a good financial timing.

Cost/price wars, spec wars, terms wars, inventory wars, shipping & delivery wars, mail wars, catalog slot wars, PR wars, editor's choice wars, turf territory wars, free sample wars, tariff wars, no one gets it all. Since IRSN won't want the junk part of the business, they can still lead the industry alliance that says how things should be. Preliminary forecasts indicate that there is more room than anyone or any “all” can fill for a long time. And the room to grow is going to have a growth containment problem. The plenty for everybody environment means there are going to be plenty of everybodys. There might be so much room to play that no one has to play dirty, or time. To toss those coins, deal those decks, shake those dice, and call those bets requires better than first year managers. If it weren't for the disadvantages, there would only be advantages. I'm an anti-disappointment thinker. Therefore since sales could be higher and sales could be lower, I'm not going to set my dependency on hope at some single number in a more reasonably large range.

God said let there be life and let it go forth and multiply. He wrote those commandments in our genes where they could never be forgotten. That type of declaration is called a divine fiat. It implies an impossible to destroy fulfillment and impossible to avert destiny. Inevitability is not a nonsense term. IRSN has destiny in it's DNA and birth pangs are clanging. Wow, even atheists have some proper respect for God, calling for some of us to do the same, let's not ruin that. Even if IRSN is in first, they won't keep it all to them selves for long. First in might want to be first to want out of first place in lieu of best place. By being fabless, they have an investment burden agility as well as a delivery and inventory agility. I don't trust JIT (I prefer “at least in time” or sooner) since it must have been designed by the cold-war to set up production for easy crippling. I do very much believe in collecting dominoes and having lots of spares.

I think as soon as they can spare the engineering design work they should mask their masks with clandestine piracy/cloning counter-espionage tricks. That way, other countries would have higher piracy costs and just masks would be useless. The original motherboard cloners (PC and Apple II) would add vias cleverly designed to fry strategically difficult to troubleshoot areas with shorts that the insider's would know to drill out. I think IC design could be worked that would make their stuff more difficult to Jap-trick than normal, the time-to-market time-in-market windows need to be monopolized the legal way that products and marketing can't. Not to be mean to Bosch, et. al., just being nice to investors. Granted, IC shaving could unmask the masking, it couldn't be done free or fast. No need to make it easy for an engineer to reverse engineer the IC level schematic. Add bogus power monger circuits to deter competitiveness.

Gyros
A gyro doesn't get GPS vertigo in tunnels and under bridges and in parking structures.

Asking ME about microsensors is not asking the best person. I remember being quite sure that Hall sensors would never amount to anything since they were competing with copper wire and saturable reactors. Now they are everywhere. I remember the days when saturable reactors were common sweep generator tuning elements in HeathKits, now they are nearly nowhere. I also thought that ring-laser gyros wouldn't reach forecast market share and never heard of any reach the small size Cessnas I fly. Too much money compared to even a rebuilt, but they ARE everywhere they can be afforded.

Sure Ying could have designed the gyros to be space grade. Maybe he did make it space grade, what an inside coup, coupe de grace, coup with grace. After all he was a significant something on the Clementine? moon satellite. But what good is a backlog if the backlog is only two, so what @$25k, nay, I say. That satellite was a budget bonanza because it used as many off-the-shelf consumer grade parts as possible. I bet he made this a 20 dollar replacement for that $25k one at the expense of the auto industry, since space research is money so hard to get where and when you want it because of the line for handouts and hand-ups. Parts is parts if you want them to be. There has been a lot of paper and hard research since way before Ying started. The trick was and still is to get product to market in a profitable way. Therefore the target market has to be targeted and has to be potentially large enough to support profit which should quit being wasted on markets with no money left.

If the gyro readout is properly threshold gated, a single gyro set could control all airbags if it isn't crippled with a slow slewing skew. I would suspect that the gyro is more autonomous than not. I don't suspect much if any external support circuitry is needed. Not even a UCR. The UCR could be used with a smart skin proximinty detector as well as proximity acceleration if it's slew-to-skew rates are fast enough to trigger an airbag in time. Would need a capacitance divider to speed it up, multiply by inverse number less than 1 and/or chopper stabilize it with a switched capacitor filter to up-band the group delays.

I saw a wreck a couple of days ago. One of those small cars (2500 lbs) got broad-sided in a 40 mph zone so that the passenger door pushed in over a foot without other failure and the door wasn't even structurally pressurized. I was impressed. A 40+40=80 mph collision would have been much worse. Let's do a quick psuedo-analysis of the carmakers quandary. He can't have 360 degree radar or we all would get cooked microscopically. 360 sonar may be possible, but how many could afford it is an issue. Vision systems are decades away even if periscoped. Circumferential switches would require quite a wire harness and be at risk of the very damage it was reporting which could destroy the link into a mere untrapped debounce signal. If the car vendor can deploy safety devices from only one switch (gyro), he is very economically ahead of all other games. To detect a position lurch from a single or several sites such as the center of gravity or anywhere strong and stable that moves more and you need an inertial dvdt detector discriminator. Lateral accelerations can be detected without trouble by a gyro because of its vector isolation. I would have stuck some lead blobs on a plastic or ceramic piezo block (6 sides or shaped for whatever axis I wanted to sense and subtract) but cantilevers, etc. make it a piece tempting for technicians to tinker with instead of replace. Substitution is a CHEAP module live diagnostic control if the replacement costs only 20 dollars compared to even a PC-based diagnostic system and its depreciation rate. Discrimination of curb and speed-bump strikes require multi-axis inertia change discrimination, a mere switch can't be all over the car and do the same thing. Smart skins, while within present technology, would be expensive to implement and maintain and would be obsolete faster. The way the government is trying to refill the ozone layer faster than it's being depleted using automobile catalytic converters makes it hard to trust plastics anymore. Remember how the rubber bands dissolve on your desk lately? Go silicon. IRSN uses such low power technology that it could be left on to protect parked cars and work with deteriorating or crash destroyed batteries as well if rigged to not false trigger on battery system death, too. The gyro, having an extremely low mass advantage, can detect displacement variables faster and recover without self-destructing like some larger mass acceleration detectors would be. Has no switch contacts to bounce and get debounced for logic calculations and no potentiometers or slow slew analog electronics.
