APPL is a prime example of holding a stock down until all the funds and brokerages had finished their buying. No matter how much good news came out on this stock, it traded in a tight range for months. The 37 to 43 area. It just couldn't break this band. Then presto, the accumulation was done and everyone loved the stock and the "word" was out. When institutions want to buy a stock it mysteriously remains in a trading range until the deed is done. Manipulation...or just a coincidence? You be the judge.

Just a theory.
