thank you for the courtesy of your response, carolyn f. while i can appreciate the fact that they wish to be optimistic, i do not share your optimism, but do appreciate the effort you made to contact them and share your report.

did you think to ask them as to whether they had received the renewal 'invitation' from their liability carrier for the year 2000 perchance?

The heirs found a huge accumulation of batteries, canned goods, and the like, plus $20,000 in one-dollar bills. That, to me, will be the Y2K problem.

Well, they can always send the cash to me and I'll count it for them
for free.... <VBG>
