If I had,you can bet your ass that it would have been accurate. I had a complete dose of Texas history in junior high school,now called middle school, as did every kid in Texas schools. On top of that, I have an extensive library of reference books on the subject back to the original Spanish occupation. I have not used any search engine to respond to any message on any of the on any thread I have ever participated in. I don't have the foggiest notion what you are talking about when you mention fedoras and talk shows,and I don't like cigars. If you were attempting humor, your try fell short of its mark. The Texas Rangers were used by the feds to maintain security around the perimeter formed by federal agencies. They were not allowed to participate in any action,supposing they may have wanted to. When the debacle was over, the feds thought it was all over and no one would question their authority derived from the dep. of justice, so they told the Rangers to just store the evidence wherever and for how long they wanted to be bothered with it. When they subpeona (sp?) came down to release the evidence, the FBI rushed down and tried to prevent them from doing so. The Rangers told the FBI to take a hike,which they have done on many occasions, and sent it to the authority requesting it. What you think about all agencies being "in at the kill" doesn't matter. You don't KNOW what yo are talking about. The "republic of Texas" was a radical group that espoused seceding from the U.S. and establishing an independent republic. The Rangers you so readily denigrate, arrested all of the leaders,prosecuted them, and threw them in jail. If you're not a liberal,you sure as hell talk like one on many occassions. I am well aware of how ugly many facets of this world are and imagine that I have many more years of experiencing its decline than you have. At least,since you hate men so intensely, you won't be reproducing someone like yourself...TD
