Ok, I lied...not going to sleep just yet.

The /M:10 is an additional switch that defines buffers for the drive. Not really needed IMO.

From the looks of things, everything should be fine. When you restart in dos-mode, can you see the output of the lines when the commands are run? Might give an additional clue as to what is going on.

Just for the heck of it, try running the mscdex with the /D:MTMIDE01 switch at the command prompt after you reboot into DOS mode to see what it says.

If nothing pops out, Dell Tech-support might be a good bet. There seems to be something there I'm missing, and from past experience, and as you've said, they're tech-support is pretty good.
