rich, imho, your analysis is too in depth. it is very simple. if it costs the same, it better be a much better computer. if it costs more, get the h* outa here! that, imho, is the message that flat to negative revenues in a rapidly declining price environment (remember when sub $1k pcs didn't exist - about 2 years ago) is sending to folks that have ears to hear. rmbs is a more expensive (MUCH more expensive) technology that the end user won't pay for. if marketing was so easy then everyone would market today's $400 pcs for $1k. why don't they? "get the h* outa here" is the message the end user would send to them if they tried that crap. basic economics.
