Infotech firms dominate list of Ernst & Young EOY finalists

New Delhi, September 9 (HT Correspondent)

Ernst & Young, India, has announced the finalists for its 'Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY)' program.

The list of 20, dominated by the IT sector, has been drawn after a five-month long screening process.

The finalists were selected from among the 500 nominations received on the basis of their growth parameters, uniqueness in the industry, leadership skills and vision. Releasing the list Ernst & Young India chairman K.N. Memani said, "I am really heartened to see the depth of entrepreneurial talent in the country. These men and women are quietly shaping a new business revolution in our country".

A jury comprising HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh, noted economist Isher Ahluwalia, Hero group chairman B.M. Munjal, Samar group vice-chairman N. Kumar and FICCI secretary-general Amit Mitra will now select the four winners from the list in four categories including the EOY who will represent India at the 13th annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year International Conference from November 11 to 14 at Marriott?s Desert Spring Resort and Spa at Palm Springs, California.

Major firms in the list are Infotech Enterprises, Network Solutions, NIIT, Polaris, RS Software, Satyam, Silicon Automation, SSIL from the IT sector. Other finalists include Archies , Bharati Enterprises, Dr. Reddyss Labs, Global Trust Bank, GVK Industries, Hical Magnetics, Liberty, Mitsu, Orchid Chemicals, Shantha Biotechnics, Unilazer and Zee Telefilms.
