All big Telcos like Bell have been protected for so long that they are ill equipeed to fight the new fight - Competition. It is the best thing that can happen - Look at what Wal Mart did to retailing in Canada - It changed it for the better and I hat Walmart.

It is just around the corner. IMO, the phone companies/cable companies are going to kill each other over the next few years. There will be a period when the consumer is king before even larger delivery/content companies are created out of desperation. I think that Shaw is the only one that seems to really get it in Canada.

OT - It's happening now Ed . . . Sprint is doing it. I've used them for long distance for over 5 years now and they just started offering local service. Bell Canada has been on the phone to me almost every day lately. I'm saying goodbye to them once and for all.

The monopoly days are almost over in Canada too. Say hello to capitalism and free enterprise.
