Well, somebody is short a lot of shares out there.

And not not all the shorts could buy in at the bottoms to re-short at a higher price. Who would still be selling at the bottoms? Also longs who went to the sidelines to wait this thing out, are looking for a re-entry point. No, I doubt CC covered much, if any, short position in the rally. If anything, I suspect that they shorted into the rally, if they use the MM I think they are using.

Not to mention, that the volume in the four day rally wasn't sufficient to really significantly reduce the short position.

Well the next short position report will be out in a couple of weeks and will make for some interesting reading. It will likely cover the period ending yesterday.
