j__z, It's a shame that all of these young women are getting raped. I don't know what the gun laws are there. But I know that about 50% of the women I know including myself are packing heat legally. A lot of the women I know didn't want to have anything to do with guns. But their husbands encouraged them to take the class. They're all glad they did. And as far as I know haven't had to resort to deadly force. I've heard of a couple of close calls. But nothing came of it. BTW the crime rate has been dropping in the area where I live. C Kahn

I can't even begin to imagine the trauma that one would suffer after a rape, and yet so many people would prefer to take a means of defense away from these potential victims....

I've noticed that more often than not, when you really need one, a policeman is rarely there. Not that I'm trying to discredit them, they just can't be everywhere and certainly can't predict what will happen when and where. And yet the anti-gun lobbyists and supporters want to take away a woman's right to defend herself in a situation where the police more than likely won't be there until after the fact?
Yeah, makes sense to me....

AND AT KNIFE POINT!!! The rapist was using a knife! Not a stolen gun! But did his lack of a gun make his crime any less effective?
Should we now ban knives, too?
