Gerry,

Thanks for the response.

"To answer point 5. Yes minimized charts are still receiving updates. The bandwidth usage is not usually the problem, its usually related to how long the Java VM takes to repaint the chart."

What I really meant was that I had minimized the chart so that I no longer saw it on my screen. The only reference to the chart was on the right hand side of my screen where I have rectangular icons for Start, Inbox for Outlook, and then the icons for the StockWatch charts. If what you are saying is true, then I should really CLOSE the graphs after looking at them but to have the problem of trying to open them when I need them again!

Regards,

Sue

Gerry R.,

Thanks for your last email. These are my thoughts as we start a new week.

1. I have decided to stay with Windows '98 1st edition and IE4. I noticed that CSW streaming quotes version #37 addresses my configuration. I have loaded it and will give t a spin today.

2. I have ordered Windows '98 2nd edition and should get it in a few weeks.

3. I've noticed that posters on the threads have had mixed reactions about upgrading to IE5. I will hold off for now as I do not want to change too much too quickly on my system.

4. Have upgraded the drivers on my ATI video cards to the most current version.

5. It's 9:28am EST and I have streaming quotes for 9 stocks (1 VSE and 8 Nasdaq) on my screen. I also have SI and Datek open. I am constantly checking to make sure than the clock on my computer and the time of last trade on BOTH Datek and CSW coincide.

6. I'm being patient but please tell me what to do to further tweak my system i.e., maybe a windows '98 2nd edition with IE5 is more stable. Please share with me!

Thanks.

Regards,

Sue

Gerry R.,

Still hanging in there with CSW. Really giving it a workout this week and trying to iron out the bugs in my system as well.

I'm using the Datek Streamer as well and they have two useful fields that I would like to, with your help of course, try to incorporate in CSW's streaming quotes window. They are: 1. a % change field and 2. a previous close field.

What do you think?

Sue
