David, First off I have only a vague idea exactly how VRSN technology works. Interesting article in IBD Wed. " Verisign charges Amazon.com and other sites $300 to $1200 per digital certificate". Further on: "They'll go to a company like Ford and tell them they need these certificates" Puricelli said. " If Ford decides every employee needs a certificate to access the company's computer database, that's 140,000 certificates. Then Ford can have it's suppliers get certificates. Then the suppliers suppliers. It can go on and on". VRSN charges $2 to $10 apiece for these certificates." Further on: "A number of rivals, including Entrust Technologies, IBM Corp. and GTE Corp, sell software to companies that want to build their own security systems..... Several analysts argue that creating your own system is cheaper in the long run." Would IDX incorporated with Entrust bring in that you are you and not just your computer?
