a word processor works fast enough on a 486 at 66 MHz, this is not what RDRAM's or for that matter 500 MHz processors are built for.

Zeev - I've now read the last couple thousand posts, and haven't been able to figure out just what RDRAM's would do for the typical PC user (I had no idea when I bought my system a few years ago that paying extra would enable me to listen to RealAudio whereas my friends who economized couldn't until they just now upgraded).
So where does Rambus come into play in the mass market? For example, will it enhance the currently poor quality of audio and video that comes over the internet?

zeev, that is even worse. build a product that doesn't give you substantial improvement in 95% of the market. rmbs is a niche play - at best, imho.
