< i>I think Intel's GTL+ protocol used for Intel P6 processors may have violated Rambus's protocol used in their proprietary Rambus architecture. From the description I have read, they both packetize I/O

Can u read that fast 3 times??

My point is simply this. RMBS has 1 main advantage (SPEED)and 1 main disadvantge (PRICE) over other memories.

Now, based on some posts here, I am getting the feeling (could be totally wrong) that there 'may' not be any speed advantage, at least not at the present time and in some tests that have been conducted.

Of course RMBS will work on that problem, if it exists, and solve it. But the short term, if there is a problem, or percieved problem, then the stock price will fluctuate and violently so depending on who believes whom and who puts their money where their mouth is.

I just want to be on the right side or on the sidelines, now and later.
