9/9/2 YBTVA, and a lesson on 'flat'. .. I had a stock on a previous earnings calendar that did everything right, and I really liked it a lot, put in on watch list it was YBTVA, you might remember. It was flat as could be, then it happened..First week in July YBTVA went from 40 to 65 without looking back. That is not to say it will happen to 9/9 but it might so I would definitely not ignore it. Don't buy it without the proper signal, but just don't discard it from the database.

YBTVA had no anticipation and the stock never budged until:

Date Open High Low Close Volume
29-Jun-99 41.125 41.50 40.50 40.625 112,000
20-Aug-99 61.625 64.375 61.125 64.25 294,700 64.25

Investors will see more Fed angst in week ahead

Ensley started CBS Corp. (CBS: news, msgs) and Chancellor Media (AMFM: news, msgs) with "strong buy" ratings.

He placed "buy" recommendations on Clear Channel Communications (CCU: news, msgs), Infinity (INF: news, msgs), Hearst-Argyle (HTV: news, msgs), Young Broadcasting (YBTVA: news, msgs), Granite Broadcasting (GBTVK: news, msgs) and Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI: news, msgs).

Shares of CBS rose 5/16 to 43 3/8. CBS has a significant stake in MarketWatch.com, the publisher of this Web site. The company's radio and outdoor arm, Infinity, rose 1 5/8 to 29 5/8.

Chancellor rose 15/16 to 53 7/8, while Clear Channel rose 15/16 to 66 5/16.

Hearst-Argyle was unchanged at 26 7/8; Young shed 1/8 to 40 5/8; Granite rose 1/16 to 8, and Sinclair added 5/8 to 15 5/8.

Hearst-Argyle, Granite and Young are among television station groups with significant numbers of ABC-affiliated stations, and may have been buoyed Tuesday by a compensation proposal from the network that some see as equitable. See related story.
