Pat, You're too kind. If one is looking for a book to give the answer, then one almost certainly doesn't have sufficient background, experience or business understanding to be able to meaningfully assess whether or not the private placement is as likely to yield a return as a typical lottery ticket. And if some "friend" is trying to extract money from me on the basis of a "private placement", I would quickly go find some new friends. If the venture capitalists that score on perhaps 2 or 3 out of 10 opportunities have passed up this one, what chance does a less well informed person have? And why wouldn't the "friend" just take all these immense promised riches for himself? FWIW, Ian.
