Dreamcast Ramblings, Well i did my DD on the Dreamcast, visted all the retailers, talked with the clerks, observed the customers, etc. First, finding one is going to be a pain, the machines are hard to come by, they are selling fast or have already sold out. It's interesting to see half a dozen to a dozen people looking at a 4 ft area, at just the games, making the decision which game to buy. From Talking to the clerks at EB and Babbages, i get the impression that they need more units, especially Babbages, they have a policy where you can turn in your PSX or N64 for store credit and use it to buy a Dreamcast. While i was there, 2 sets of kids with there parents were doing exactly that, dumping the N64 for a Dreamcast. I talked to the clerk about this, he said the 99 price cut on the N64/PSX has made no difference in sales, kids are keeping there PSX and unloading their N64 units. I suppose it's because the PSX has more titles?,or maybe it's just this Babbages?? Well i went back out this morning to buy a Dreamcast, i managed to get 1 of the last 2 at Target, but had to go all over to buy the 4 games the kids and i wanted. This has been a non console house since the Atari days, i never thought i'd own one, but it's very impressive what Sega has achived. Does this mean the end of putting in the latest 3D card on my various computers?, the jury is still out on that one:-) It's going to be a great Christmas for Activision, Midway, Interplay, and Acclaim. They had the guts to go out and support Sega,Kudos to all of them, there's no room for catch-up in this industry, unless you are Electronic Arts. Toy Story 2 and Space Invaders are new listings for the Dreamcast for ATVI, with the Disney license, i'm sure Tarzan can't be far behind, and who knows what else. 97 Million in sales the first day(console,games,add-ons) Oh My, Alex
