Nulldog,
That is not true. A white family was brutally attacked by a black man outside of Comiskey park in Chicago this past week. I read somewhere that they were going to charge the man with a hate crime pending investigation into his motives.

Actually, Nulldog, it has. I believe that authorities in Portland, OR have prosecuted both black and white suspects for assault and murder committed solely because of the victim's race.

If you found a white man's nude body in Watts with the words, "Death to the hill-billy Apalachian Republican Sexist Red Neck Greedy Gun-Bearing Fascist Pig who Keeps Us Down" written on his chest, how would that NOT be considered a hate crime?

<<I disagree, either reason I could get killed, I'd still be dead. Why does one deserve stricter attention than the other?>>

Forget murder - I have agree on the murder issue. Most hate crimes do not result in death. Most hate crimes are beatings. Stricter laws will reduce the beatings. Why don't people understand this and always talk about murder???????????????

<<And what about a white man in a black neighborhood? It can prove just as dangerous for the white man, and yet wouldn't be considered a hate crime.>>

Once again this is a hate crime. Same laws apply.

<<How about just stiffer penalties?>>
Across the board stiffer penalties sends no message that targeting certain groups is not acceptable. I think we need such a message.

Erase Hate.
