Excerpt from CSFB report:

"Globalstar's current capacity plans assume the emergence of other competitors, such as ICO
, who have been allocated spectrum within the same band as Globalstar. But
if no competition emerges, Globalstar believes this could expand its capacity
by 20-25%. Globalstar also foresees capacity gains through technical
enhancements to the system. Additionally, it was noted that Globalstar
phones can operate in the spectrum currently being used by Iridium, in the
event Globalstar could somehow gain access to this spectrum.

The Gateways

Globalstar's plans call for nine operational gateways by the commercial
service launch located in Canada, Italy, Argentina, Korea, South Africa, the
United States, France, China and Brazil. These gateways will cover
approximately 30 countries. In total, 38 gateways have been manufactured and
shipped. Of these, six are in the commissioning and testing phase, five are
in the installation phase..."

Sounds like your source had good info.

Sorry that I can't post the full report. It goes into more detail than the ML report, and generally has a bullish tone.

Have a great weekend everyone.
