John you may be right on the need of a heat spreader but maybe there is some other means : techstocks.com exerpt "For example, while Rambus as a memory subsystem will consume less power than existing synchronous DRAM, individual chips may run hotter when continually accessed during operation and will likely require a heat spreader or another means of heat dissipation, MacWilliams said. " At least Raychem corporation techstocks.com and Foxconn International techstocks.com are involved in heat spreaders for Rambus Also specific Rimm connectors seems necessary I don't know of any company that will significantly benefit from this but if there is one it could be interesting to watch.
