LOR is supposedly safer because it has other businesses, but it has been somewhat dead money since it guaranteed G* debt and collaterized the debt with its own assets. G* is riskier but the reward should be greater. LOR now owns 46% of G*; check back on thread--someone did the relationship calculator between the two based on G* earnings and tstock movement. LOR was supposedly a better buy a few weeks ago when G* moved above 30 for awhile. (I of course bought G* at the top.) There have also been signs that a big shareholder has been selling LOR; if you look at the price over the last few weeks, maybe month, blocks would come out when LOR reached certain price. Many days it would close with zero change. My best suggestion is to go back through the thread and read the messages that go into this stuff in greater detail and you will see various analysis of the two relative to one another. Good luck.

Daskin: JGoren's suggestion in post #7325 is good advice. I think both Jeff Vayda and ValueMan (and maybe Rocket Scientist or others) have periodically done a *do you get more G* for your money buying GSTRF or LOR?* analysis. Seems Jeff did one of those lately and landed on LOR as being the better from that aspect (and, of course, there are numerous aspects when comparing the two companies).

Would like to know what your conclusion is when reached. Personally, I'm heavy-weighted on the LOR side. I try not to think too much about this (currently) *non-earning asset* element of my portfolio. ;(

Good luck. ...Tim
