Same question here, what EXACTLY does a CFO have to do with a company ? Or more, how can a good or bad CFO help this compamy ? Making sure no one is getting extra pay ? ..

B: Brazilian computers exports to Mercosur rose 49.75%

The Brazilian exports to Mercosur fell 29.21% in the first semester of
this year, to US$3.15bil. However, computers' exports rose 49.78%,
footwear exports rose 45.11% and pharmaceuticals and veterinary drugs
exports rose 32.32% over the period. The Brazilian computers exports
amounted to US$49mil in the 1st semester of this year, of which
US$43.5mil to Argentina. Compaq, whose only computers producing plant
in Latin America is located in Brazil, has been operating at full
production capacity, having produced between January and August of this
year the same volume produced over the whole of 1998 in Jaguariuna,
State of Sao Paulo. The company's exports to Mercosur rose 60% between
January and August, 1999 in comparison with the same period of 1998,
andthat growth is to be maintained until the end of the year. The
company aims to increase overall exports by 50% this year in comparison
with the whole of 1998. It exported 55% of the 1998 production and
predicts to export 65% of the production during this year.
