Thanks Miljenko, that's interesting. I am surprised by what you say concerning not expecting statistical significance though. Statistical significance depends on magnitude and consistency AND on the number of samples. With sufficient numbers a statistically significant result can arise from effects that are so insubstantial as to be clinically insignificant. This is clearly not the case here though, as you and Richard have pointed out.
