Proton plans Indian arm to sell cars

MALAYSIAN car giant, Proton, today announced that it will set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in India to market its cars. The company would soon approach Foreign Investment Promotion Board for setting up a subsidiary, Proton India Pvt Ltd, to formulate a strategy for marketing its various car models in India, Proton CEO Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff told visting journalists from Delhi.
