The Diesel Locomotive works (DLW) Varanasi was established in 1961 as a green field project in technical collaboration with M/s. American Locomotive Company (ALCO), for indigenous manufacturing of Diesel Electric Locomotives in India.

Ever since the first Locomotive rolled out in 1964, DLW has progressed forever onwards. It has since then manufactured over 4100 Locomotives. Today it has a capacity to manufacture more 150 locomotives a year, which makes it one of the largest diesel locomotive builders. DLW meets not just the complete diesel locomotive requirements of the vast Indian Railways network but also exports to countries like Vietnam, Tanzania, Bangladesh , Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Equipped with an ISO 9002 certification, DLW is fully geared to meet the special locomotive needs of developing nations. DLW takes pride in its achievements and in the process, gained enough confidence to play a major role in the progress of these nations, through supply of reliable, fuel-efficient and yet cost effective diesel electric locomotives.

That doesn't mean the NDA can rest easy either! Every party and every party leader will want to extract his pound of flesh. To imply that Sukh Ram, Sanjay Singh et al are "clean", is just ridiculous.

I wonder who else will the right-wing kooks and their supporters be busy blaming and bad-mouthing a year from now. My short-list is: Arun Nehru, George Fernandes, Paswan and Karunanidhi.
