OT: IntelligentSpeculator.com

Have to agree ... wouldn't waste your time trying to "get through". Have observed for over two years and there really appears to be some significant personality deficiencies as well as a strong case of "guru delusion".

There is an initial appeal that attracts new traders - kind of a "common man" interest. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the experience and knowledge of the many talented "players" on so many other threads, it is an easy place to get started and obtain comfort. No strong technical or fundamental analysis offered. Very few picks - like a handful in a year (most hardly original, the rest plainly obvious). But again, it seems to serve a purpose as a first step from lurking to posting.

Unfortunately, there is a significant level of insecurity that gets reflected in some of the most ridiculous and unnecessary conflicts. For most, it is so easy to remain humble in light of the many talented and learned investors around - pity that some can't recognize the relative modesty of their own skills.

Anyway, just want to congratulate you on a great site. Heard it mentioned by OJ (one of the most impressive on SI in my opinion) on IKE's thread (a legitimate guru if there is such a thing - with his experience and knowledge) and I am just starting to visit and read the "stuff" there.

Have read various posts and appreciate the "significance" and "weight" of them. It really isn't too hard to separate those on SI who have profited from a long bull market from those who can profit in any market.

Good luck - certain you won't need it.

***My apologies for interrupting this thread with this OT post. IS.com's PM wasn't on and I wanted to make my comment to him without causing a stir on that thread. Thanks.***

teresa, i think that most misunderstand the context of your posting
in my opinion it is helpful, very helpful, in stimulating independent and creative thought

i waited for some response to you when i saw you post to ike's and tim's threads and when there was none, responded in both places

my opinion is there is much misinterpretation of both sides of the exchange,
i won't speculate as to the causes

hope all is well
regards,
ynot ;)

I like Susan was drawn to this thread and the "wicked flap" because of my interest in BIDS. FWIW, those guys
were totally out of line as I expressed here:

Message 11224670

About BIDS, where do you see it heading? If indeed they are
to announce soon a major deal with a large U.S. player and they or their boosters hype it up before release, then I see it going to 10+. I expect the actual news to dissappoint and see a subsequent sell-off back to this level.

Take Care,
Joe
