The Fortune on line article was a complete waste of bandwidth. There was nothing of substance, nothing. What did we learn? Watch out--BatWing might make chips? There's something to lose sleep over. The handset business is very competitive and Q has competitors larger than itself in this subset? Jeez, I thought Nokia made vodka; when in god's name did they start pumping out phones?
In the game of world monopoly, we got Latin America, Asia, Europe, and North America. We're doing pretty damn well in Latin America, got the flag planted in Asia, and coming on like gangbusters in North America. Europe is GSM and will be till VOD does something about it.
The only things that are relevant now are Asia and North America (which means T) AND WIRELESS DATA, which is shaping up as the SuperBowl for air interface supremacy.
Fortune's article thus spared us any commentary whatever on any of the elements that are critical to Q's future. Other than that, I enjoyed it. Mike Doyle
