THIS WEEK IN THE FRONT OFFICE

The News

From the Front Office News: "Clarify and DSET Corporation, a leader in operations support system (OSS) interconnect gateway solutions, announced a strategic partnership that will enable greater operational efficiency for telecommunications carriers. The companies are integrating Clarify CommCenter and DSET's ezTroubleAdministration gateway, resulting in an end-to-end solution for seamless data exchange. Together, Clarify and DSET offer carriers the ability to share data across disparate networks and resolve service problems much more quickly and economically."

Remedy appears to be going in the direction of Peregrine Systems in its strategy to add asset management as a core competency. This week it announced the acquisition of privately held Fortress Technologies, a consulting firm focused on asset management. From the press release: "Remedy has established a market leading position with over 1,200 asset management installations to date. As part of its initiative to expand its asset management practice, Remedy has already tripled its staff of enterprise consultants. Now, by leveraging Fortress' proprietary best practices methodology, Remedy will help customers quickly identify and prioritize opportunities to improve management of their assets, both inside and outside IT."

The Stocks

Thanks to the huge increases in software stocks in the last two days, our Front Office Gorilla Game advanced to a new high. It is now up 93% year-to-date and has increased at an annualized rate of 78% since its inception about 16 months ago.

Clarify and Siebel are solidly into three-bagger territory. Those two and Remedy are very close to 52-week highs. Siebel, the strongest of the front office gorilla candidates, is the only one whose 52-week high is also its all-time high.
