Shorts and longs are different patterns. The shorts tend to be a little earlier in the day and more toward quiet times. They are more geared toward smaller breaks and I'll go trend or counter-trend at this time since it doesn't matter as much. The longs are often after 2pm and are frequently plays off cup and handles on trending stocks. Those I'll trade all to the way about 3:40. Will avoid the close most times.
