I admit being somewhat defensive about referrences to my age. I am an intelligent member of my generation and in my experience, many adults simply assume I know nothing. As to your assertion that Democrats are Socialist, I still must disagree. Mrs. Clinton was not, I believe, advocation the nationalization of health care but was suggesting guaranteed insurance. Canada has a similar system and they're not all that Socialist. I remain convinced that it is an unfair characterization. You'll need more evidence than that to convince me. As to your assertion that Republicans are the pro-freedom party, it is unfair to say that about either side. Republicans dislike the NEA because it sometimes says things they don't like. Democrats want gun control because they think it is a too dangerous freedom. In the light of many other country's political parties, Republicans and Democrates are just two types of moderates.

Neither the Republican NOR the Democratic party espouse freedoms. Both are taking away property rights and weapons rights as quickly as they are able. In fact it was under Reagan (remember that was when I quite the Repub party and became a Libertarian?) that the first asset forfeiture law was signed. Now asset forfeiture is an easy way for the government to take your things from you, whether or not a crime is ever proven...in fact the proceeds of asset forfeiture are now on the budgets of various policing agencies!
