Bruce, your recent missive to Gary could not have been more precise. Unfortunately, we can not speed up the clock to prove our contentions.

Regarding our distinguished Bete Noir, El Capitan, I wonder what his motives may be for wasting his time on a company he despises. To stay in a stock only for the sake of a buyout is foolish. Does he think that he can dissuade everyone from buying 3Com, or for that matter Compaq, by disseminating misinformation? Constructive criticism is always welcome but pessimism without merit can only invoke petulant discourse, which is not in keeping with the spirit of this site.

I'm jealous of your MRVC. Nice move!!! I bought that one at 18 about 1 year ago and quickly noticed it was about to fall apart...and got out at 17 (thank god!). As you know the pup sunk to something like 5 and I never got back in. Glad to see someone took advantage of the tanking. I guess i was skittish after my near fatal mistake.

As for COMS you make a good point that no one has competed well against CSCO. At the same time however COMS has lost the NIC business to INTC. They have not succeeded in maintaining leadership in any market they go after...things always look really good, competitors come in and then it's over. This is one of the reasons why I think spinning off PALM would be a good thing. I have visions of a competitor coming and taking PALM to the mat.

In the end, I'm not so concerned about COM's livelihood...only that the management does something to get the stock over 30. After than I couldn't care less.
