Keep in mind that Q is a fabless semiconductor house, MH. They design the asics, but the ICs are made by, I believe, IBM and Intel, who have some pretty massive production capacity.

Imo, VLSI production won't be halted. Philips has a billion reasons to obtain a cdma license with Q; the news release was just the start of a negotiation that clearly favors Qualcomm.

I understand what Gilder is getting at with "suuply creates demand" or if you build it, they will come.

That axiom obvioulsy no hold for everything, as in "inventory charge"

I really think that the demand is creating to supply in this case.
