At the same time it was Houtkin who opened doors so that day trading became a viable profession. Granted SOES is not today what it once was, but it got the ball rolling. And there were many who made a nice living a few years back when MM's still had to quote 1000 shares. It's fairly obvious as more started to play the game the chances of capitalizing purely on SOES plays would diminish. This is/was common sense and anyone trading should have been able to figure that out.
