IMPORTANT TO READ!! CEO Chat Rules:

Tom has yet to confirm he will drop by to participate Sunday....but he has indicated his willingness and eagerness to chat with us here...so my hopes are still high for Sunday night or some time in the very near future.

We need some rules to make the chat a productive and enjoyable experience for all involved, rather than a bum rush and unintelligible mess! Also....this will be a tough assignment for Tom to have a meaningful dialogue with us without stepping over the line and disclosing non-public information. PLEASE do not tempt him to disclose more than he should or can on future announcements, etc.

Rule 1: Do NOT try to engage Tom in PM or instant messages while he is at the club. All contact will be through the Moderator (ME) on the public chat board.

Rule 2: Feel free to post any greetings/
salutations/welcomes or short messages (not questions) on the bulletin board or the chat board for all to view....don't expect Tom to have time to respond however.

Rule 3: I will serve as moderator of the chat and ALL inquiries and questions shall flow through me. This is probably the most important rule for the chat to work efficiently and so everyone can have a decent opportunity to engage Tom's comments/thoughts/ideas.

Rule 4: To make an inquiry or question of Tom through the moderator, you must PM me with your question. I will review the questions for appropriate content (basically to make sure Tom is not requested to disclose insider information or essentially repetitive questions) and subsequetly advise you when it is your turn to ask that question directly of Tom on the chat board.

Rule 5: Please....only one or two questions per person per chat session....I am confident that if our initial effort is a success and positive experience that it will result in repeat performances in the future.

Rule 6: The chat session ends when either Tom or the moderator announces it is time to end....anyone whose question has not been posed and addressed yet will be noted (please also email me afterward with your question and the fact we did not get to it) and those club members will be given priority in any future chat sessions with Tom.

Rule 7: Be courteous, brief and do not use profanity or engage in any other unprofessional behavior. While my purpose will be to censor such activity I will NOT censor reasonable questions....so ask what you like. My purpose is not to protect Tom from sticky or challenging questions...only abusive and gratuitous attacks. I do not anticipate this being a problem with our club members but it needs to be said clearly.

Rule 8: As with the club rules in general....discuss and address issues/facts/ideas not personalities.

Rule 9: Have a TON of fun!!!!! But lets try to keep the background chatter to a low roar so we can see all the questions and answers....make use of instant message and PM to discuss amongst yourselves or carry on conversations amongst yourselves while Tom is on.

Rule 10: Failure to observe the moderator protocol and efforts to engage Tom directly in questioning, bypassing the moderator, will result in a stern warning and place you at the end of the line for approval of your question. If it becomes a problem it could possibly result in early and abrupt cancellation of the chat session. In extremely rude/obnoxious/abusive cases it WILL result in your being permanently removed from the board. Once a member is removed by a founder (me) even I can not subsequently return you to the club. Please don't force me to this extreme. Again...I don't anticipate this being a problem with the club members but want it clearly stated in advance.

Understand that Tom will reserve the right to postpone answering any question he can not answer accurately or comfortably off the cuff. Tom will have final say as to whether and to what extent he will answer your questions once approved by the moderator for direct posting to Tom on the chat board.
