Doc:

I find it strange how you can attack my remarks regarding an apparently popular explanation of how zinc supposedly fights cold viruses, while at the same time claiming disinterest in discussing the whole "how it works" aspect.

At any rate, it still stands that the fact that zinc ions have a positive charge is hardly a unique aspect of the element. It does you a disservice to defend reasoning that would get laughed out of a high-school chemistry class, much less the NEJM, just because you happen to agree with the conclusion. It would be like me defending the argument that "Microsoft will be a success, because Windows is uncrashable."

Side note: I heard somewhere that the major journals only publish about 10% of the articles submitted to them. Not something I'd like to pin all my hopes on.

For the record, still not long or short anything zinc-related, but growing more amused by the week.
