Unfortunately, this is a Protestant country. They trace their thinking back to Luther, where they hit a stone wall. Their philosophical ancestors are Calvin, Wesley, and those charming Puritans. Their world view is indeed myopic. I posted earlier on this thread that people who are afraid of the "Christian right", whatever that is, need not worry too much. They are in error and are doomed to fail.
