Many people on this thread send me private messages asking me for advice on how to handle difficult issues in their lives, or simply seeking personal inspiration. From this, I would have to conclude that I am the one worth listening to.

Here is a legitimate issue:

Traditionally, extreme liberals have been for expanding constitutional protections in the 4th Amendment area, endorsing measures many thought were "handcuffing" the police. In furtherance of this liberal view, restrictions were put on police action by the liberal Supreme Court under Earl Warren. Many Nixon conservatives of the day bitterly opposed these decisions.

The issue is: Would today's conservatives agree that the 60's and 70's liberals were absolutely right that measures should be taken to restrain overzealous police, even if this sometimes leads to a situation that appears to favor "criminals" or "suspects"?
