My experience with QWEST has been superb. They have exact billing by seconds. I saved 50% on my bill after switching from WCOM service. No comparison.

Unfortunately, you are right. Customer service with QWST appears to be rather spotty. I have had good experiences in general. My dad who I recommended go with QWST in Nov 98 is leaving them. The final straw? He lives in WA state. He was double billed for his long distance. He received identical bills from USWest and QWST for long distance. The QWST internet service just isn't working and they are switching to AOL because of the frustration on the ISP front. Service will be the achillies heel of QWST unless they raise the level of their game and quick.

I would really like him to address how QWST will improve customer service. Hey. They're going to merge with US West, an RBOC with the worst reputation in the industry for customer service. The results should at least be entertaining from the outside. Seriously, though, it seems like a huge issue for both the current and new Qwest. If they can't get customer service issues fixed in the current company, then they will be in severe trouble when the two inept service organizations are combined.
