Q. Will my toaster be affected by Y2K?

A: Possibly, depending on the date of manufacture. Toasters made before 1st January 1991 are believed to be most at risk and may start churning out poorly toasted bread at the start of the new millennium.

Statistics have shown that the area most at risk is New York, where there is a higher proportion of households still relying on antiquated toasters than in any other part of the world. In the worst-case scenario, millions of people could be without breakfast in the first few weeks of January 2000, causing widespread moodiness which could rapidly deteriorate into civil disorder.

However, it is reassuring to note that the government has a contingency plan in the event of a toast shortage. Federal troops will be brought in, the Constitution and civil liberties will be suspended and Clinton will be installed as indefinite ruler of the United States with the promise of unlimited toast for all. Therefore there is no need to worry.

BTW
The Y2K glitches they talk about are NOT accurate. Most were not from Y2K, but other problems. The above was the only thing I found of interest in that article.
