According to Aquinas, Faith is the assent of the intellect to that which is believed.

Maybe that's why I can't have faith. My intellect refuses to assent.

Did Aquinas say why belief comes before intellectual assent? It seems to me that it's the other way around: how can any thinking person believe anything that is intellectually unacceptable?

Chris, I am not nearly as eloquent as you but if you are talking about the individual's intellect yielding to that which is believed, didn't we really say about the same thing??...TD
