The license is probably not voided (not a typical IPR license approach), but a change in control, as when Phillips acquired VLSI, probably subjects continued validity of VLSI license to Q consent. Whether playing the heavy or for other market reasons, Q sent the 60 day letter. I suspect Uncle Franq has something--Phillips will have a period of time to decide what amended license terms will be acceptable.

Don't understand your comment regarding Unless they commit to open up Europe...--Phillips is not a wireless carrier, as far as I know. And as far as 3G (and 2.5G variants to extent employing CDMA licenses), all flavors will have to license the applicable CDMA IPR.
