Hello Gary,

As I have been watching the announcements of the "Internet Call Waiting" features that many companies are rolling out, I'm curious about the short and long term value of these.

In the short term, this feature is only of value to customers who have a single phone line. If you have two or more lines, then this feature isn't needed. Also, if you go to DSL or Cable Modem then you don't need this feature. Looking at trends in the US will not define the value to International customers ... but I'm not sure how many Internet users fall into the category served by this feature ...

Obviously this feature might have some real value to the "single phone line" customer ... which brings up some interesting questions:

1. Does anyone know the percentage and numbers of how many Internet users fall into the "single phone line" category?

2. What is the trend of migration to multiple phone lines or DSL and Cable Modems?

3. How much extra is this feature, or is it a free service to customers?

4. Has anyone seen numbers that indicate the acceptance rate of this feature with other carriers?

I know that as a tele-commuting computer industry worker for over a decade, I have had multiple phone lines for a long time. But I understand that a segment of the population might want this feature ...

Nice find. It still looks like the service is based on separate ring cadence stuff from the Class 5 switch with caller-id or something. I like it . THis is one of the starting gate services which will definitely propel the demand for more. Do you have anything on ISP local voice calling services?
