"... but, I would be very careful of the MIND's, the IO's, the GGY's , the OMNI's etc.... nearterm; just much, much better prospects elsewhere."
I agree with your general comments about the above group, but MIND does still deserve a play from a traders stand point. It is being bought as a "laggard" and is currently experiencing a breakout. Why not short term trade it? I took a position Thursday AM. Don't plan to hold very long though as I to believe the drillers have plenty of leases already mapped out from 11/97 that need to be drilled.
Cordially,
RBlatch

I don't post often, but I shorted the drillers down a year ago last Summer and went long in the fall, so I am pretty happy at this point. I expect OPEC to underestimate demand causing a potentially large spike in both oil and gas prices sometime in the next six months. That will be a good exit point in many of the drillers, IMHO.

Slider, Re. "market anomalies", in addition to GLBL, and MDR, there may be one coming up soon. The merger of NR and TBI is coming up soon. The charts look toppy here. Maybe we get a "wall street hates os mergers" dip to 10 on TBI, 7 on NR. Imo the combined co at that price would be a license to steal. This co will be one hell of a supplier/service co. who are merging and just the right time in the cycle.

Taking a hard look at MDR here. I own neither MDR, NR, or TBI, so am I a hypster? I can't tell anymore. <g>
