I have a hard time believing that this law is being sought because people are praying. You make it sound like the government is going after these old ladies and you conveniently forget about the murders and bombings that have taken place at abortion clinics. <<OK, the hate crime bit might have been a bit of hyperbole, but in the present climate I can see it theoretically. Preachers who speak out against homosexuality, for example>> That would violate their right of free speech. But if the preacher puts the thought of harming a homosexual in a persons mind and that person commits a hate crime then I think he is partially responsible for the crime.
