In effect you will not have a separation
of church and state.

We have never had a separation of church and state. That's an inaccuratge phrase some people use.

We have two things in the constitution: a) a prohibition against Congressional establishment of religion, and b) the right to freely exercise one's religion (within limits the court has put on it by refusing to accept the plain language of the Constitution).

If there were separation of church and state, our money would not have "In God we Trust" printed on it. And many, many other things would be different.

Heck, we even elect priests to Congress.
