Actuary Age 29? I scanned through your posts,
I'd have guessed a high paid investment advisor
what are you doing hanging out with so many "punters"?

Can you tell us why you check in on the Isis
thread from time to time, I've been warned off
Isis once or twice, but you look like a pretty
savvy trader, and somebody must have said something
to you about Isis' particular flavor of antisense
to keep you coming back? To what degree do you
understand the science?

I see you are from the camp that is wise to the
folly of putting all your eggs in one basket, the
aphorism 'pigs get slaughtered' came up in at least
one of your posts. When is 'investing' courageous,
when it is foolish?

I've been ridiculed one too many times in the last
few weeks, for having a single stock, an investment
which I believe I understand. But I'm smart enough
to ask for advice when I see a chance.

Finally, although I was disappointed with Crusade,
I hear JMS is working on another Teevee series, tho
not set in the B5 universe. Also, wouldn't you love
to see a movie--I'd have Andreas Katsulas in the
lead role, plus Jurasik and Furlan of course.

Even if this overly broad statement was true, not to many cats, dogs & pigs went up 30% recently, a time period that contained two items of clinical significance.

Now lets see the overly broad statement holds up well in practive. Granted lots of biotechs did well - the NAZ did very well. The huge valuation disparity between large cap and the rest of the market is coming closer into balance (and has a ways to go yet long term)

I have 15 stocks I follow in the broad definition of biotech.

Advancers last week

VICL, TTP, ISIP, MLNM, LGND, TRIBY, IMCL, CHIR

(I hold VICL, ISIP, TTP & TRIBY)

of these, only VICL had no news items, TTP looks to have benefited from both an investor's conference where the CEO spoke & a followup article at The Streat.com + a report.

Staying even

xoma, onxx nzym, mre, imnr, ctic, axys

Most of these had news, on balance, I would assess their news items as having less clinical significance.

My sampling is not broad enough to make a conclusive statement, and perhaps I should have gone to another chart site where I could have put in 10 days as the duration, rather than the 5 allowed with YAHOO, but it does not look like the facts support your theory. Rather market response may likely have been a combination of news, and mo-players trying for short term pops. Next time, you may want to do a little more homework before making desparaging comments such as this

<<Every cat, dog and pig in the biotech sector went up during the past two weeks.>>
