I may be misreading you, but are you saying that if I give $1000 to a candidate I am rightfully to expect a "favor" from the politician in return. Or are you merely using "favor" as meaning that I am entitled to access rather than action. If you mean the latter, that is very disheartening as it means that the system is entirely corrupt.
