BOUF ALERT..HOT OFF THE PRESS>>>ZD

Sunday September 12, 6:10 am Eastern Time
News Corp considers Ziff-Davis bid -report
LONDON, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Rupert Murdoch's News Corp Ltd is considering a $1.5 billion purchase of U.S. technology media and Internet company Ziff-Davis Inc (NYSE:ZD - news) (NYSE:ZDZ - news), the Observer newspaper said on Sunday.

The newspaper cited sources close to the talks as saying News Corp executives were completing due diligence this weekend on Ziff-Davis, which in July said it had retained Morgan Stanley Dean Witter to explore the possible sale of all or some of its businesses to maximise shareholder value.

The Ziff-Davis move followed a decision by its majority shareholder, Japan's Softbank Corp , to focus exclusively on Internet company investments.

Ziff-Davis produces some of the world's leading technology magazines, including PCMagazine and PC Week, and runs trade shows as well as Internet activities. Its Internet businesses have a separately quoted tracking stock ZDNet (NYSE:ZDZ - news) which is 83 percent owned by the ZD Group.

The Observer said it was thought the takeover was being negotiated by Murdoch's son James, who heads News Corp's Internet business.

It is unlikely that News Corp would wish to keep Ziff-Davis' trade magazines, and purchase of the rest of the gorup would further Murdoch's aims to expand in Internet activities.

Murdoch this year joined with Japanese venture capital group Softbank to form a 50-50 venture in the UK, eVentures, to invest in Internet opportunities.

I HAVE ZD..this could be HUGE on Monday..GOOOOOOOOO BABY!!

Bouf.... no need for a truce. Just like Anthony@Pacific and Tokyo Joe when they were active on SI, they had more than their share of people that were staples on the thread that served only as nuisances.

Same thing is happening here... I'll just have to get used to the false and misleading statements and all the childish name-calling.

So see them for what they are, and get used to them... they'll be hanging around for a while just being disruptive. Every thread has them... it's just a shame because this thread was doing so well and had really matured.

>>OH YEAH.....take a small look at BPNT....this might surprise you soon.... am I # 1 now??LOL :)

guess that is how it works now... but don't worry... if it goes, someone with nothing better to do will roll back through all the posts and find someone that mentioned it 2 weeks ago. LOL

Good luck,
Jason

Bouf,

You are correct, and it has been an unfortunate series of posts on the thread. For your information, this could have ended last evening when I sent a private message to Jason Harlan. At that time he had several options available. Sadly, he chose to publish my private correspondence to him on a public forum as you can see by the copy below:

so I got fans on yahoo too... very nice indeed.

Sorry Garcia, no need for me to even bother posting on Yahoo... too busy here... keep me posted of my "popular" status.

lol

Jason

In addition to posting my private message, Jason Harlan sent me a private message in which he naturally denied having any role in the above shameless self promotion on the Yahoo bulletin boards, and in fact boasted of his fan status on the Raging Bull message boards. He pointed me specifically to the INTM board at Raging Bull. This is what I found there:

First, a valid and informed post re: INTM by another (more credible) poster...

I bought in today after picking it up on the SI board,
Tokyo Joe's Cafe/No Pennies.
Tokyo JOe is long gone but when Jason Harlan over there says to buy , the stock almost always runs. He was saying how it was an undiscovered Linux play.
INTM was all over the board and with Jason and his crew buying INTM, we should run to 16 intraday tomorrow.
Lets see.......................

LOL... glad to see I have some fans.

Hope everyone enjoyed the ride.

The internet is undoubtedly the largest convergence of technology and humanity that the world has ever seen. While it is somewhat anonymous, Jason should learn that it certainly is neither transparent or ignorant. Such a poorly orchestrated attempt to draw attention to himself as the next "guru" is not hard to see, in fact it begs to be ridiculed. The internet is a tool that will be exploited by good and evil alike. These two examples (Yahoo and Raging Bull) of exploiting the internet for self promotion and personal gain fall into the later category.

The participants of this thread, and the thousands who read it regularly, should also be reminded of exactly what started this series of posts. It was not my critical post to Jason Harlan. Rather, it was Jason Harlan's, and others, attempt to serve up a warmed over MZON on a silver platter as the next greatest thing since sliced bread. In the process, I have no doubt that some albeit a small number of investors were damaged financially.

In response, I called a spade a spade, and I would not hesitate to do so again.

In his defense, Jason Harlan accuses me of being bitter, having "printed the high". This is untrue. My investment decisions are my own, and I will always assume full responsibility for them. Coincidentally, this defense was most often employed by TJ whenever someone was openly critical of him. Jason Harlan also points to the posts made in support of himself as validation of his most high status. I am glad he is comforted by those posts. However, I am sure he would be equally dismayed by the numbers of PM's I have received by thread browsers and participants who share my views on Fridays events.

Jason Harlan is obviously an ambitious young man. He can rah rah and cheer on a stock that happens to be moving like no one I have ever seen. In addition, his ability to gather information from the CNBC Power Lunch site and post it to the thread is uncanny. I do wonder however why he simply doesn't post the link and information on what time the site is updated if it truly is the best interests of other thread participants that he has in mind. It is my opinion that Jason's present ambitions are tainted. The lure of quick and easy money as a pump and dump specialist has not escaped his attention. It will be interesting to see if he chooses to continue down that path.

Despite these recent events, there is no doubt that this is a excellent thread viewed by countless investors for investment ideas. However, bear in mind that if it is allowed to become a bully pulpit for a single individual to advance his own self serving agenda, it will surely die.

The readers of this thread are not ignorant, nor do they deserve to be treated as such. They will be alert to this matter from this point on. I urge all to be cautious in responding to this post, which is my final say on the matter, as your responses will weigh heavily on the minds of those who read them.
