Good Morning LT,

I actually went to do that Sat Morning but wanted to change the timespan to 14 days, reflecting the running race over the 3 weeks. The chart doesn't seem to handle 14 days, and I wasn't inclined to manually figure the percentages out since you hadn't responded to the prior weekly postings.

But I will say AU did pretty nicely this week; better than the NAZ and DELL. The eyeball test indicates that AU has overtaken the NAZ and closed the gap significantly with DELL, but I think DELL is still ahead for the three week period.

On a separate note, did you notice that the NAZ went to 2900 intraday [I assume you'll give me the 2.5 points] and QCOM bounced off the 50 DMA. Ya got a luv those technicians.

I also cleared out my margin on Friday and went to around 75% cash. Post Jewish new year and options expirations week are typically bullish, but I think I'll sit out and watch the action. The Naz going through 3000 seems pretty unlikely in the near term.

After my 9-day waiting period, I'm willing to put in a tentative number for the low going through the year, i.e., 2500 or about a 14% correction off of 2900. Based on how the MBAs reacted to 9/9/99 I don't think you'll see your 1400. We'll see how the next six weeks plays out. I'm looking to go long again in Oct sometime and I'm still scratching my head over if and when to go short, but I'd probably just short QQQ rather than individual equities.

BTW, are you looking for tactical nukes? LOL

Best,
Jim

P.S. Recommend you put a slogan on top of your monitor..."Markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay liquid."

Wrong graph, try this one...

tscn.com

Just like Ag, Au is now being demonetized. When was the last time a central bank announced a Gold Purchase. And how many more Gold sales do you expect by Countries during the next decade?

Still long and loving it.

What's the matter LT, your Dell shorts not doing so well?? If memory serves, you went short @ 41 and again at 46, I don't think any gains you made in AU (if you are invested in AU) will make up for your shorts. But then again, you've been posting here for at 2 years and you haven't been right yet! <VVBG>. I suggest you cover on Monday before you get yourself in some real trouble. (All this presumes of course that your invested in anything, which seems unlikely-it's hard to be so consistently wrong and still have any $ left, isn't it?) <GGGGGGGGGGGGG> Alohal
